The Bradford Sock Company, in Bradford (West Yorkshire, England, UK) are designers and makers of their own wool socks that are not only soft and comfortable but also fully machine washable.
Our northern hemisphere wools are better suited to carpets and coats that aren’t in constant skin contact so our experts at The Bradford Sock Company have chosen a special blend of wools from the southern hemishere. This gives a yarn that is both soft to the touch and still strong enough for the constant rubbing use in everyday socks.
Traditional and more modern designs are knitted using up to date machines that are housed in the same 200 year old mill that was once owned by Sir Titus Salt (1803-1876), a Bradford wool spinner and manufacturer. Some of their tried and tested yarns, made from 80% Wool and 20% Nylon, are even still dyed in Bradford.
They choose their own colour combinations to make just a few dozen pairs each time, every small batch being unique.
After each batch of socks is knitted they wash them at 30 degrees and then leave them overnight, so that they contain just the right amount of moisture before pressing, ironing and packing them all in-house.
Here at TBM and Friends we have selected just machine washable designs for your convenience…
Remember: When They’re Dirty – Wash at 30!
